Fly Fishing Lake George, Adirondacks and Plattsburgh Areas

There are rivers with riffles, runs, pools, and pockets. There are small creeks teaming with native brookies, remote trail-less ponds, and  easily-accessed lakes galore.

The DEC has reclaimed much of the still-waters in our area and designated them as "special trout water". These waters are managed for trout and do not allow the use of bait fish and in some cases, no live bait of any kind!

I have most of the gear for you to use but, you could/should bring a 4-6 weight rod with an intermediate and fast sinking line if you are floating lakes and ponds. I fish tippets between 4x and 3x.

For moving water bring the same weight rods but consider a double taper, long leaders and lighter tippets down to 6x when the fish are picky.
